Scotland harbours some of the largest wilderness areas in western Europe and feels like a place straight out of a fairy-tale, with the golden eagles soaring above your head and minke whales swimming off the coast of Mull. A land rich with history, culture and gastronomy; Scotland has so much to see and do, from the hundreds of scattered castles to clusters of culinary excellence you’ll be sure to have a great time. Stay in the beautifully renovated Cromlix Hotel in the heart of Perthshire, recently purchased and lovingly restored by tennis player Andy Murray. Set in 34 acres of grounds that obviously include tennis courts, the hotel also has a whiskey room, billiards room, library and two drawing rooms to while away the hours. Or move further into the Highlands and stay at the wildly romantic Fife Arms in Braemar where tradition meets contemporary art. Expect watercolours of stags’ heads hanging in the same space as a Richard Jackson neon and blown glass antler chandelier.
