WHISKY TASTING

Whisky is deeply embedded in Scottish history, the earliest record of distillation dating as far back as 1494. Why not discover a piece of this fascinating (and delicious) history with a private whisky tasting at Gleneagles?

You’ll sample impeccable whiskies, chosen and introduced to you by a resident whisky expert, who will then talk you through the distilling process and guide you as you ‘nose’ each individual dram. With the whisky’s taste owing in part to Scotland’s pure water, take your tasting outside to enjoy the rich flavours in an even richer environment.

Enjoy the mouth-watering flavours on the back of a Land Rover following a scenic safari; ‘nose’ as you watch salmon rise on Laich Loch as the sun goes down; or complement your whisky as it deserves with a cigar at the spectacular outdoor Blue Bar.

Once you’ve got a taste for just how special whisky can be, discover the art of whisky blending and create your own elixir. After learning to identify and savour the world-famous flavours of Johnnie Walker Blue Label, you’ll use a selection of expertly chosen single malts and accompaniments to find tastes that complement each other and try to create something just as exquisite. This experience is the perfect way to taste test some of the finest Scottish whiskies and equip yourself with a newfound knowledge and appreciation for its unique flavours.
